Pink Chair Project RVA will be feted at Richmond’s 46th Annual Greek Festival

The Greek Festival, located at Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Malvern Avenue, offers free admission and the sharing of culture as well as lively music, ethnic dancing and cuisine, and an International Bazaar.

Each year, the four-day Greek Festival donates a portion of the proceeds to benefit the work of selected charities. In recognition of the impact of philanthropic giving and caring, the Pink Chair Project RVA will be honored for the second year in a row as one of the recipients serving Central Virginia.

This year, Pink Chair/The Hawthorne will join respected nonprofits; namely, Youth Life Foundation of Richmond, Liberation Veteran Services, Science Museum of Virginia Foundation, and The Healing Place.

Pink Chair is being recognized for providing “electric remote-controlled chairs to post-surgery breast cancer patients, facilitating their comfort during the healing process…, [and] fostering a sense of well-being and support throughout their recovery journey.”:

This statement comes from the Greek Festival Charities Committee and Parish Council:

“We are thrilled to announce that Pink Chair Project RVA has been selected again as one of our 2024 Richmond Greek Festival Charities. Their dedication in ‘providing a place of comfort for breast cancer patients in post-operative recovery’ is a stellar example of our criteria necessary for selection. Our parish and our guests were warmly embraced by the PCP volunteers that were present last year and their enthusiasm continued all day long. Truly an exceptional recipient of our donation!”

Linda Tsironis Caruthers, Founder, has responded in kind, expressing profound appreciation:

“On behalf of Pink Chair Project RVA, I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for Pink Chair being chosen as one of the 2024 Greek Festival Charities. It is with immense joy and appreciation that I received the news of this very generous award. This recognition is received as a beacon of hope and support for all breast cancer patients. Pink Chair is deeply honored, and we look forward to continuing to make a meaningful impact with the Greek Festival’s support.”

On Saturday, June 1st, visit us at Pink Chair’s all-day information table located near the entrance to the Sanctuary. Also, on Saturday, around 7:00 pm, Linda and energized committed Pink Chair volunteers will be honored on the outdoor stage with a check for $4,000.
